You've changed, man.

Someone said two words to me today that I have been pondering all day. "YOU'VE CHANGED." We've all probably either said this to someone or have heard it from someone. After thinking about when I've used this statement and the places I've heard it used, I've come to the conclusion that it's usually said with a negative connotation and is meant as 'you used to be better.'

I really don't know why these two words became my subconscious' favorite snack today. (wrap your mind around the hilarious things hiding in my subconscious mind) For whatever reason it stuck with me. I guess mostly I have been pondering questions like:

Have I changed?
How have I changed?
What exactly prompted these changes?
What exactly has changed?

I've come to the realization, that he was right. I have changed. Now I could have you pull up a chair and explain to you some of the major reasons I feel I have, but I fear losing at least half of my five readers.

My favorite Tony Horton quote...

"We stumble. We fall. But we move."

I'm GLAD I've changed and continue to change every day. Change almost always seem to have a negative connotation and certainly can be bad. However, change at least means I'm growing.

Maybe I did used to be better at some things in my past years. (no, wii tennis is not one of those things) But ya know what - in some other things I'm better. I'm growing everyday and am smiling alot while I enjoy this fabulous life God has given me to live.

"Change is."

The simple words from my college biz professor, but it applies to all aspects in life. Truly, "change is". It is one of the few constants guaranteed in life. We have all changed. Some for the worse, some for the better; but most often a mixture of both.

none of us are perfect. At least we have time to change for the better when our follies are realized.

In the words of my Staff Sergeant:
"Get your head up."
Why so simple? Because that's all we can do. Pick your head up and keep fighting the fight.

You are right, Azazel. We almost all do it. I prefer to be on the side that is moving. Have you ever smelled stagnant water?

I have smelled stagnant water. It's usually what I smell when I fall face down in my own failure. And back to SSgt's advice, I get my head up. No sense in beating ourselves up over something, and guilt is a worthless emotion.
Find a self fault? Getcha some! ;-)

I'm always gettin' me some... :-|

Tony Horton is my hero! "Don't let your ego get in the way of your success." After Joe beats you in tennis, I will beat you in P90X. Plyo. Kenpo. Synergistics. Whatevs.

To quote Tony Horton again, "Bring it, Sunscreen." Ok - I made up the sunscreen but Tony would undoubtedly be on my side.

I had a shoutout to him on my wedding program.

Unfortunately, most people are afraid of different. Change is different. I prefer to believe that all change is good. Even if you change in a direction that isn't "good" as long as you eventually see that, accept it when you are "shown" that, and most importantly learn from it then it becomes good. Change is scary and it certainly scares the hell out of me frequently. Face the fears and walk through them. Learn from them. I can't claim any of this as mine, but they are things I've learn (usually the hard way) from change and life.

Change, learn, enjoy!

I think you have changed for the better! Not that there was anything wrong with you before... or maybe our relationship has changed for the better?? either way, I love your change :)
