Weeds!

This new house has the most beautiful flower beds....it's really why I wanted this house. After getting the inside done, I ventured outside to the beds yesterday afternoon. Once I was in it, I realized how many weeds there were.

I ended up with a huge garbage bag FULL of weeds that I had to drag into the garage because it was so heavy I couldn't pick it up!

As I was digging them out, I began to analyze (of course) and compare the flower beds to living. The weeds seemed to "take over" without someone caring for the plants. They had rooted so deeply and it took a lot of work to dig them out. Much of them had roots so deep I couldn't pull the entire root out, so I know they'll be back.

Once all the weeds were out, the flowers almost took a sigh of relief. Now they'll have the room to grow and "be all they can be." There's even a place for a small garden - couldn't even see the dirt in this bed, but now it's all tilled and ready for plants. I can't wait to get started and will post some photos throughout the summer.
